Homeschooling High School

**This year, we have TWO high school students! Can’t believe how time is flying by! Because we have six students from high school to kindergarten this year, I have separated my tabs into Homeschooling High School, Homeschooling Middle School and Homeschooling Elementary School. This tab is for High School. Click the links above for Middle School or Elementary School Coursework articles.**

I began homeschooling our children in August 2009. At the time, we had 2 sons: one in 5th grade and one in 2nd grade and 1 daughter who just tagged along!

In June 2010, we brought home 2 more sons, ages 10 and 5 at the time.

In August 2010, I began our 2nd year of homeschooling with DS1 in 6th grade, DS2 in 4th grade and an ELL student, DS3 in 3rd grade and 2 little tag-a-longs, 5-year-old DS4 and 5-year-old DD (both in PreK part-time away from home and learning alongside us while at home).

In July 2011, we began our 3rd year of  homeschooling with 5 students: DS1, 7th grade; DS2, 5th grade; DS3, 4th grade; DS4, K; and DD, K.

In February 2012, we brought home DD2, age 23 months at the time.

In July 2012, we began our 4th year of homeschooling with 6 students: DS1, 8th grade; DS2, 6th grade; DS3, 5th grade; DS4, 1st grade; DD1, 1st grade; and DD2, tot school.

In August 2013, we began our 5th year of homeschooling with 6 students: DS1, 9th grade; DS2, 7th/8th grade; DS3, 6th grade; DS4, 2nd grade; DD1, 2nd grade; and DD2, age 3, preschool.

Our 6th year of homeschooling began August 4, 2014, and I am teaching four children at home this year: DS1, 10th grade; DS4, 3rd grade; DD1, 3rd grade; and DD2, Pre-Kindergarten. DS2 and DS3 are in public school this year, in grades 8 and 6 respectively.

On August 13, 2015, we began our 7th year of homeschooling at CandL Homelearning with six children: DS1, 11th grade; DS2, 9th grade; DS3, 7th grade; DS4, 4th grade; DD1, 4th grade; and DD2, Kindergarten.

Our homeschool is quite eclectic with a predominant focus in Charlotte Mason philosophies and a good bit of unschooling mixed in as well.

Wow! You started already? We are not starting until August, but we have 2 tag-alongs too. Our DD 2 just came home on July 7th, so I’m a little worried about how things will go with her and her brother (2 & 3) while I am working with the big kids (6, 7, & 8).
